Downgrade iPhone iOS4 4.0.2 to 4.0.1

Steps to Downgrade the iPhone iOS4 4.0.2 !

1. Download the Firmware version 4.0.1 from HERE.

2. Backup your iPhone through iTunes.

3. Put iPhone into DFU Mode :-

(1). First, Open up iTunes, plug in your iPod Touch/iPhone to the CPU's USB port. Turn on your CPU's speaker and make sure it is loud enough that you can hear it.

(2). Hold down the  Home button (top left for iPod Touch and top right for the iPhone with the screen facing you) and the Power button (located on the front bottom of your iPod Touch/iPhone) simutaneously, until the screen goes black and the device turns off. (past the red slider/slide to power off screen)

(3). Now let go of the  Power button, but continue to hold the Home button. Your iPod Touch/iPhone should have turned off and the screen should not be on.

(4). After around ~10-20 seconds, you will hear a noise (beep/ding) from your CPU as if it had just recognized a new hardware device, now iTunes should recognize it in DFU mode.

(5). After iTunes recognizes the iPod Touch/iPhone, let go of the  Home button otherwise it will go into recovery mode and you will have to do the entire DFU process over again.

(6). You will know when you have put your iPod Touch/iPhone correctly into DFU mode when the display is blank and that you do not have anything on your device.

4. Press Shift+Restore and select the Firmware 4.0.1 and Downgrade your iPhone to Firmware 4.0.1 from 4.0.2.

5. Thats it ! You are Done.

How to Run VodaFone Live(Edge) on iPhone

Step 2: Install “Winterboard” from Cydia as step-by-step displayed by images below.

Step 3: Reboot the device after installation as needed.

Step 4: Add new source “cydia.xsellize.com” to cydia following below images.

Step 5: Search and install “Supreme Preferences 3.0″ from cydia.

APPLE FIRMWARE 4.0.2 FIXED

Apple (finally) released firmware 4.0.2, which patches the very large security holes exploited by@comex in the 2nd incarnation of jailbreakme.com.  The only problem is they outright abandoned iPhone2G and iPod Touch 1G users!  Even though Apple acknowledges in their security update the severity of these holes, they left iPhone2G and ipt1G owners high and dry — completely vulnerable to truly malicious variants of jailbreakme (these variants aren’t out yet, but they’re sure to come!).
Luckily for Apple, the Jailbreak community isn’t so callous. @saurik has been burning the midnight oil coding a Cydia package that will fix the holes for all devices and all firmware versions (even going back to version 2.x!).  It will be released very soon, after some more testing is done.  (Update: it’s available now…see update #2 below).
                                                           
Since the only reason for 4.0.2 was to fix the security holes, and since the upcoming Cydia package will fix them too (and then some!), everybody should sit tight on 4.0.1 (or lower) and install the Cydia package as soon as it’s out.  Jailbreakers can have their cake and eat it too.



Update #1: For those who know their way around the bash shell and dpkg, please try out this fix and send any pertinent feedback to @saurik. Update #2: The fix is installable via Cydia itself now (search for “PDF Patch”).  To test that it’s working properly, visit jailbreakme.com again.  After you slide to jailbreak, you should no longer see a dialog box pop up (you’ll just see the star background).  That means you’re no longer vulnerable!

Project iOS4

The purpose of project "i0S4" is modify a 3.1.3 version simulating the Apples iOS4, on iDevices that are not supported as the iPhone 2G and iPod Touch 1G , and in iDevices that is not loaded or not functioning properly those functions as the iPhone 3G.
